INTERNATIONAL UNION OF PHARMACOLOGY (IUPHAR)
Introduction
The
International Union of Pharmacology (IUPHAR) gained separate existence from the
International Union of Physiological Sciences (IUPS) in 1965 although it got independent membership of ICSU in 1972. The objectives of IUPHAR are:
-to
enhance collaboration between pharmacologists at an international level;
-to
advance he science and appropriate applications in therapeutics;
-to
stimulate research in perceived growth areas of special significance;
-to
advance the training of teachers of pharmacology and the importance of pharmacology in the medical,
dental, pharmaceutical and veternary curricula of universities and specialist
schools throughout the world.
